Career Transition Coaching
Stop Feeling Stuck
Do you want to move up, along or find your first job? Want to develop your career? Are you facing redundancy? Or are you feeling "I don't like Mondays" and need a change? No job is worth chewing the duvet cover on a Sunday night. And that's where career transition coaching becomes invaluable. It's a catalyst for change.
I can provide the nature and depth of help you need - from a wire-brush scrub up of your existing CV, writing knock-out cover letters or helping you draft application forms.
Often clients welcome support over several months. As a result, you'll feel better about your life, discover more opportunities and make better decisions.
How I Help – The Process
Stage 1: The 'Audit'
The first step is looking at what you can offer an employer and working out your ideal job situation. Together we 'audit' your skills, abilities and achievements – everything you're bringing to the party. We explore your values, what you really think, what really motivates you, what you really want from your career. The process helps you to define your career targets and discern an ideal situation. With my respectful, supportive and proactive approach, you'll find the process illuminating and empowering – and you'll probably discover unseen gifts or attributes.
Stage 2: CVs, Applications & Cover Letters
It's a sad but true fact that when employers sift through applications, they're looking for ways to reject you and cut the pile down to a shortlist. In seconds you could be rejected because of any of the following reasons:
- Poor first impression
- Poor visual layout
- CV too short or long
- Too much, too little or confusing information
- No results orientation
- CV makes you appear too young/old for the job
- Typing and spelling errors
I'll help you ensure that your CV and entire application spells success. I create well designed and well written CVs, cover letters and applications that do you justice and promote your key selling points. You'll give yourself the best possible chance of gaining an interview: the opportunity to sell yourself face to face.
Stage 3: Finding The Right Vacancy
As well as your usual routes for finding out about potential jobs, I can help with:
- Online job searches
- How to network
- Uncovering the hidden job market
- Surviving redundancy
- Is it time to go out on your own?
Stage 4: The Interview
Short of attending the interview with you, I can help you prepare in every way – including building your confidence.
I'm happy to work with you however you want. Face to face, over the phone or email – or using these as a support between sessions in person. Just as a one-off or regular sessions.
Remember, if these intervals don't suit you, we can work out whatever feels right for you. Please get in touch to chat through your current circumstances and goals, arrange your free taster session, or find out about rates.
